Filling days with rewarding experiences

The weather has been fantastic so far this fall season in Ontario. We have sunshine practically every day, and it is warm, too. I am aware this will probably change soon, but at the moment it’s just wonderful time for observation, sketching and painting. I keep walking to minimum not to cause more pain, but still manage to spend time outdoors.

I spend numerous hours alone, but engaging in drawing, sketching, painting and reading later at night takes care of never feeling lonely. I hardly have time for cooking and house work, but more or less I get done what’s necessary. Painting is like having a good friend who’s always around. It’s an immersive activity which carries one away completely. Time simply flies away.

Avoiding unnecessary noise which comes from TV and social media is very beneficial. I personally don’t watch TV at all, haven’t for a few years. Social media are now advertising media, and the only socialization happens there when people buy and sell stuff. Social media are extremely boring these days, just like small talk on which I practically never waste any time. I also use my phone rarely. That all is meant to prevent noise and chaos entering my brain. Brain hygiene is extremely important for us all.

We rent this place, but the best part is, it comes with privacy and extremely beautiful surroundings. My backyard has very old trees and wild plants which I allow to thrive and bloom. That creates a great background for my artistic activities. People often ask how to draw or paint trees. There’s no better way than to look at them, observe the light and shadow patterns, dancing colors and shapes.

Well, one would say it is not that exciting way of life. However, I’m not that young, and it feels just what I need. I feel good, look fairly good also, and that’s both genetic inheritance and my own input into peaceful and calming way of living. These are my own efforts at simple, uncomplicated lifestyle. Nobody can avoid stresses, but we can at least cope with them easier without harming our mental wellbeing if we can maintain inner strength and resilience.

Many people regardless of their age are really losing ability to focus and make any decisions these days. Why do I think so? I make such conclusions listening to and observing other people with whom I come in contact. Most people rely on AI now. However, our brain needs vigorous daily exercise and we need to maintain good memory. Do not let AI to take away that from you! If one always requires some guidance even with the most basic things in life, that’s a step back. That’s giving over control to something which might not be your friend at all.

It’s fantastic to read and check out other blogs. I must emphasize, though, I only refer to blogs which are written by real people, not AI. We can tell right away if the style and story is too smooth and absolutely impersonal, that it’s AI writing. Too perfect, too boring. How long one can consume tasteless food? The same goes for zero excitement in our life. I don’t care about some mistakes or typos. I care to discover the person and personality behind their blog.

Have a great fall season and stay in touch!
