We are shocked so frequently with extremely bad news.
We cannot be in a steady state of sorrow and grief.
I am focusing on the good things that surround me. These are mainly colors and the sunny backyard.
I used to cry for everything and I was crying a lot even reading books and watching movies. It seems I am in a place now where there are no long shadows.
It is much more peaceful since the entrance gate is locked. It’s not that I have built a wall around me, but I am carefully selecting the things that get in.
When we allow strange forces and energies to take over, it can be very difficult to get back to oneself. Almost impossible since we are scattered all around like falling leaves.
I have to immerse myself in colors. The stunningly dark red and the blindingly bright yellow.
This is so refreshing.
I let my thoughts go.
I skip the sad pages and get back to colors.
It will be never so that everybody will smile and breathe easily. There is day and night. Light and darkness.
We are energy. We can be pure and clean energy and we can damage us allowing too many dark shadows cover up the light.
So, this is today.
I hope it is a good tomorrow.
I have no idea how the weather will be after that.
I am walking around live colors. I am inhaling them and they become a taste, too. What a relief! Meditation. Simply: I let the time disappear.
For it’s going to be a good tomorrow.
Enjoy!
The pink
The yellow
The deeply red
Yes. We have to save ourselves by turning inward. Our world has become too much to bear~

Thanks Cindy! I do not think there is something wrong with that because one way or another: we must preserve our integrity.

It makes me very happy to read this. Definitely made my day or rather night. It’s getting late. Thanks a lot for that!

Simple, but profound beauty in the photos and the words, Inese. I shifted my focus away from “reality” quite a while ago. That’s why I’m still here.

Thanks! the same here. I suppose for me, that is art that allows distancing myself from surroundings. In your case that might be traveling and focusing on interesting, amazing, distinctive and exciting things. Regardless, one cannot absorb all the bad stuff on a daily basis and live afterwards unaffected. We have to take a great care about our integrity, and, especially, integrity and wholeness of our mind and soul are very important.

i love color and nature, but it seems reality always creeps it’s way in.

I know. However, we have to take a distance and check carefully what we keep in our head and what we just let go. I am aware that bad thoughts are persistent, and especially when the situation is rather bad. So, it will take efforts, but everything is a lesson; we learn it and let the stuff go. I’ve been struggling with this myself. It took me almost 60 years to realize that. Keep good things and stick to them, all sorrows, offensive thoughts, revengeful or upsetting: have to allow whatever take them away. Wind, air, flowing water, soil, anything, give them away.

So true Inese. Great post. Yesterday in church, I was attempting to cheer a woman who’s sister was suing the family until the judge threw out the case. “What an answer to specific prayer,” I encouraged. Instead of gratitude she focused on all the sad aspects of the case. As a counselor, I realize some prefer to anchor themselves to sorrow for it attracts attention for the pity aspect of it. As for me, I’d rather praise God for His Caring Hand over all our earthly troubles. No one should steal our Joy! Blessings back,

I am guilty of that myself. I was focusing and sticking to disastrous things until I realized it made absolutely no sense. Thanks for your great comment! I deepened my knowledge in Latvia, I get fantastic inspiration there, always.

A beautiful post, Inese, and gorgeous pictures. There are times we have to protect ourselves not only physically but spiritually too. Doesn’t mean we don’t help others, but if we break down, we can’t help others either.

Thanks, Cynthia! That is the idea. You said it very correctly: if we break down, there is no use of us.

I often think of the safety demonstration flight attendants give before take off. The passengers are always instructed to put their own oxygen mask on first. This is good advice in a general sense.

Yes, we have to be realistic, at the same time not consuming all the bad things that happen everywhere.

Beautiful colours and beautiful thoughts, Inese. I planted some pink dianthus in my garden last Sunday and still feel so good about it. You are so right, we must focus on good things that surround us. Thanks for the lesson. Cheers 🙂 Irina

Thanks, Irina! Yes, there is a definite imperative nowadays not to allow bad news swallowing us. News broadcasters prey on bad news and they are allocated a lot of space in every program. There is also so much of junk information which is manipulated and misleading. I wish people were more selective when they argue about something, it can be just garbage that has no real meaning or importance. Cleaning up and keeping the mind is crucial. Our internal integrity needs steady maintenance, too.
You have a much better climate for plants over there. I just brought inside my hibiscus plants: one is really big and takes almost half a kitchen, but that was the only place I could assign it.
I enjoy your posts, too, because we need this positively empowering touch.

Yes, I agree, there’s too much information out there and a lot of it is not worth arguing about.
So, you are getting ready for Canadian winter. In Sydney, plant life in gardens goes on all year round. 😊

We are getting ready for winter. So far, it stays mild, but rainy. It must be nice to always have warm weather. I would be just afraid of all the insects, scorpions and other stuff which gets in rooms, or maybe it’s just how Australia is described here?

Ha ha… When we were on the Galileo sailing to Australia in 1964, an Australian told us about all the venomous animals and I thought to myself, they didn’t tell us about such dangers at the Australian Embassy in Paris! Well, yes, they are here, but so far no one has been bitten in our family.

I see, so, some truth is in all that rumor. I feel extremely scared by that type of creatures. Just seeing some larger insect puts me almost in coma. LOL. Other than that, it must be very nice when it is not too hot and when there are no wild fires.
